K@ — KATRIEN VAN TICHELEN
Singer-songwriter · guitarist · pianist & composer
Antwerp, Belgium

BIO (EN)

K@ a.k.a. Katrien Van Tichelen is a Belgian (Antwerp) singer-songwriter,
guitarist and pianist who writes and performs her own songs. This impro-minded
artist has her own very natural energy and style. Her repertoire ranges from
dark, punky atmospheres and tongue-in-cheek moments to intimate, sensitive pop
songs full of poetry and strong lyrical stories — always with that typical,
beautiful, fuzzy timbre of her voice.

Her debut EP "Sexy Motherfokker" (2019) is a unique first taste of K@'s world
with both sensitive and raw rock tracks and vocals. The second EP "Proud Of You"
(2021) with K@ & The Sexy MF's is more soulful and bluesy, with Katrien's lyrics,
melodies and band arrangements — including a fine cover of David Bowie's
"Five Years".

Genre: indie · grunge · (indie) folk · rock · soul · blues · alternative.
Sounds like: PJ Harvey, The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cat Power, Kristin Hersh,
Janis Joplin, Bettye Lavette, Sonic Youth, Courtney Barnett, Patti Smith.

Line-up (band): Katrien Van Tichelen (vocals, acoustic guitar),
Geert Vanbever (electric guitar, Hammond), Luc Waegeman (bass, backing vocals),
Kurt De Waele (drums, percussion).
